Future Tech's Change for Change Initiative Donates to Adelphi's Breast Cancer Program
HOLBROOK, NY – This December Future Tech Enterprise made its first donation on behalf of the company's Change for Change initiative, an effort to help local charities fight for a worthy cause by collecting spare change. A coffee table collection bin sits in Future Tech's main lobby where visitors and employees can drop in their spare change, which is then donated to a charity at the end of the month.
The initiative took full force in October, and Future Tech decided to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month by making the company's first donation to the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. CEO Bob Venero personally dropped off the check to Hillary Rutter, Director of the Breast Cancer Program at Adelphi, and the staff.
"We knew a little bit of change could make a difference, but I don't think we knew quite the impact it would make until we arrived at Adelphi," says Bob Venero. "It's an amazing feeling helping a charity like Adelphi's program provide Breast Cancer Support to the community and throughout New York State."
"We are so honored that we have been chosen as the first charity to be honored by Future Tech's Change for Change program," says Hillary Rutter. "In these hard times, it is especially heartening to know that there is a business that is ready to help."
Adelphi's goal is to educate, support, empower, and advocate for breast cancer patients, professionals, and the community. They do this by offering a toll free hotline, specially trained professionals and volunteers, educational programs, and counseling programs. All services offered by Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program are free because of fundraising and donations from the community. The program is the first program in New York State addressing the psychosocial issues associated with breast cancer.
Future Tech's next Change for Change donation will go toward a local diabetes organization to support diabetes awareness in the community.
