What Would You Do With 40,000 Quarters?

Local Businessmen Will Donate $10g to "Change for Change" in Support of Diabetes Awareness
Event Slated for February 13 at Noon at Future Tech Headquarters, Holbrook

HOLBROOK, NY - January 27, 2009 - Future Tech Enterprise, Inc. is making another donation on behalf of the company's Change for Change initiative, an effort to help local charities continue their good work by collecting spare change. A coffee table collection bin sits in Future Tech's main lobby where visitors and employees can drop in their spare change, which is then donated to a charity at the end of the month.

The initiative took full force in October, when Future Tech honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month by making the company's first donation to the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. Then Future Tech CEO Bob Venero challenged the local community to support Change for Change's next cause: diabetes. He offered to match the first $5,000 and placed the offer in the Bayport Blue Point Gazette.

Within minutes of press time, local businessman Steve Smith offered to donate the first $5,000 --- in quarters! As owner of the Laundry Kingdom chain, Mr. Smith has access to change; and in honor of his young daughter, who has juvenile diabetes, he is donating 20,000 quarters. In the spirit of the moment, Mr. Venero also offered to donate 20,000 quarters.

The team will drop all of their change into the Change for Change collection bin at noon on February 13. "We're in an economy where our charities are suffering," said Mr. Venero. "Change for Change is showing that even small change can make a big difference in people's lives. We are challenging local businesses, residents, students and school groups to come together and drop off their spare change at Future Tech in Holbrook. They'll see how much it means to the people they are helping."

"Diabetes is currently an epidemic," said Toni Riedel-Lehmann, the American Diabetes Association's Associate Director for Long Island. "The monies raised through Future Tech Enterprise's "Change for Change" campaign will help sustain the ADA's mission of improving the lives of those touched by diabetes, and we are grateful for their support."

Donations of any kind -- change, dollars or checks -- can be dropped off at Future Tech, 101-8 Colin Drive, Holbrook on the day of the event or by calling Catherine Calame at ccalame@ftei.com or 631-472-5500. The public is invited to the Change for Change event at Future Tech on February 13, at noon.
